Prunus serrulata
Flowering Cherry
Oakland, CA
January, 2014

  • Pruned in winter to minimize stress on a highly sensitive species
  • Primary focus was to clean up small twigs giving the entire aspect a cluttered, busy look
  • This tree is the largest in a row of four Cherries.  The other three are kept at a similar height to each other but the amount of reduction that would be necessary to bring this tree to a height that matches would not be possible.
  • This tree needs only small amounts of pruning periodically after the first major clean-up
